Red Stripe is a watercolour painting and pencil sketch of a metal beer can, crumpled in appearance, presumably discarded through use. Nettie admits to being drawn to items that are crumpled or squashed and capturing the beauty in the imperfection you can find. Within the lines and creases of the object, the item gains a sense of character and delivers the dimension and depth which would otherwise be lost in an unused object.
