Throughout Asia, the crane is a symbol of happiness and eternal youth. In China, the crane is legendary for being the prince of all feathered creatures on earth, the symbol of longevity and peace. The crane is the most favoured bird symbol and historically was represented on civil officials’ robes, to depict rank throughout the different dynasties.
In this piece shot in Bejing by Miss Aniela, the dress of designer Guo Pei in the shape of an egg, next to the crane, symbolises new and bountiful life.
