Christopher Antoniou started his creative education by studying traditional art before going on to gain his BA (Hons) in animation at the Surrey Institute for Art & Design. He also later achieved a post-graduate degree in animation at Central St Martins College of Art and Design.
Christopher’s education led him into an extensive and productive career in animation and visual effects, working mostly as the asset supervisor in many noteworthy productions.
Whilst growing up, the artist attended a school that had links to philosophy and he was taught about Eastern philosophy from an early age which has instilled in him an interest in mediation and spirituality, an interest that also informs much of his personal artwork.
Christopher finds the majority of his inspiration in nature, and he is fascinated with movement; the combination of those elements goes hand in hand with his skills as an artist and animator as he explores the movements of the natural world through his craft.
“My artwork is a way to remind myself what’s important to me, the importance that we are all part of the same energy.”
Christopher Antoniou has exhibited his work in several group exhibitions including one for the general public that was held to show people that digital art isn't out of their grasp.
The artist has also turned his attention to teaching, giving talks and classes on the animation masters degree course at Central St Martins College of Art and Design, as well as at The Art Academy.
It’s Christopher’s skills in animation and love for nature and movement that have directed his path away from his 20+ year career in VFX to working as an NFT artist.
