ABOUT THE ARTWORK

In the 1930's, Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) felt the half-beast half-man was his alter ego. He was going through a turbulent, though self-inflicted time, with three women in his life. In Minotaure et Femme or Minotaur and Woman, an unsuspecting woman walks by, throwing a ball in the air. In the background, a naked Minotaur, resting on his stomach, feet up, looks on.
